CONDITIONS TREATED
An individualised patient-focussed approach to healthcare
As fully-accredited urologist, Professor Rajan treats patients with general urological conditions, and specialises in urological cancer care. He is a strong advocate of shared decision-making between patients and doctors, and empowers his patients to understand their medical conditions to make the best treatment choices.
Professor Rajan treats a range of general conditions affecting the male and female urinary tract (kidney, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, and male genital organs). These conditions may manifest in multiple different ways such as difficulties passing urine, male sexual problems, genital lumps, bumps and pain, blood in the urine or semen, cystitis or kidney infections.
Professor Rajan undertake simple diagnostic examinations such as fibre-optic cystoscopy examination. He uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and "fusion" biopsy for suspected prostate cancers and is adopting state-of-the-art genetic tests for cancer diagnoses. By working closely with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and nurse specialists as part of multi-disciplinary cancer care teams, he can offer specialist opinions on treatments for prostate, testicular, renal and bladder cancers.
